Tasting note

The Marquis de Terme vineyard covers 40 hectares on some of the finest gravel (Gönz gravel of Garonnais origin) slopes in the communes of Margaux and Cantenac. The vine density is 10,000 per hectare, and the average age of the vines is 35 years. The grapes are hand- picked and carefully sorted at the end of the vine rows before being sent to the wine cellar to be processed. Fermentation takes place in cement vats and the wine is left on the skins a long time to absorb sufficient colour and flavour. The best vats of wine are then aged in oak bands (35-50% of which are new every year) for 18 months.

Located in the prestigious areas of Margaux and Cantenac, Château Marquis de Terme is made up of parcels covering 39 hectares, essentially composed of gravel soils with a mix of quartz and quartzites and a clay subsoil, which remains cool and produces well-ripened grapes. The team, led by Ludovic David, takes great care to reveal the full character of the parcels by applying parcel management that is naturally respectful of the environment. Wines grown and vinified in the purest traditional
methods unveil the candour of fresh fruit and the smoothness of silky tannins worthy of this appellation. In short, wines that offer excellent quality and value for money.
