Description
A tender Pomerol, with elegant tannins
After a dry and hot summer, and three months without rain, the drought ended on September 14th. Rain allowed the final phase of maturity to take place. Harvest went by smoothly, with the grapes reaching maturity without any issues. Chateau Petit-Village 2016 is a blend of 77% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc and 9% Cabernet Sauvignon. Cabernet Sauvignon is responsible for giving the wine a solid structure.
Chateau Petit-Village 2016 has a very dark purple colour, similar to ink. The nose is impressive with an incomparable aromatic complexity. The black fruits are rich and fresh. Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon are used to balance the richness of the Merlot. The palate is invigorating with a great use of acidity. The tannins are slender, elegant and powerful. They also add to the balance and harmony of the wine. The finish is retentive. Chateau Petit-Village is easy to drink and capable of ageing for many years.
