Description
2003 Moulis from Bordeaux
The 2003 Chateau Poujeaux is mainly a Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot blend with a hint of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Despite extreme heat conditions, Chateau Poujeaux's team and the exceptional terroir yielded superb volume control. In fact, this Moulis is fresh, lush, dense, mature and balanced.
The wine shows a deep, intense dark-red hue. The nose exudes intense candied fruit (no over-ripeness), and mashed currant. The palate is straight, full, and generous. Long and tight, yet civilised tannins coat the creamy mid-palate creating a serious structure for cellarability. Very energetic finish. Philippe Cuvelier's team presented a very masculine wine with lovely harmony.
