Description
Château Smith Haut Lafitte white 2016 : a harmonious and elegant Pessac-Léognan
Château Smith Haut Lafitte is a Graves Classified Growth produced in the Pessac-Léognan appellation. The white wine comes from a vineyard of 11 hectares, aged 40 years on average and planted on soils made up of Günzien gravel. The blend of the Château Smith Haut Lafitte white 2016 is 90% Sauvignon Blanc, 5% Sauvignon Gris and 5% Sémillon.
At tasting, the château Smith Haut Lafitte white 2016 displays a pale yellow colour. The very expressive nose reveals explosive scents of citrus (pink grapefruit, citron) and yellow fruits (fresh mangoes, vine peaches), along with floral (acacia) and mineral notes (rifle stone). Harmonious and elegant on the palate, the wine is fresh, dense and reveals a formidable texture. Long, unctuous, complex, vivid, the Château Smith Haut Lafitte 2016 offers a finish with extraordinary salinity and subtle touches of flint typical of the gravelly soils of the estate.
