Description
This cuvee was created on a very old Sauternes terroir by the Bernard family (Domaine de Chevalier, Lespault-Martillac, and Domaine de la Solitude). From old vines, the 2015 Lune d'Or of Clos des Lunes is a dry white wine which signs the 5th vintage of this top of the range Bordeaux Sec. This wine completes the range composed of “Lune Blanche" and Lune d'Argent" and its purpose is to express the quintessence of the Clos des Lunes old vineyard. Harvested from August 31st to September 21st, the 70% Semillon and 30% Sauvignon blanc reproduced the beauty of this vintage and magnified the dry whites and the Sauternes. This wine displays a pale golden bright yellow colour. It is frank on the nose with subtle fragrances of tangerine, citrus aromas (lemon and Florida pink grapefruit) accompanied by exotic scents. The whole of these aromas offers a scrumptious and fresh sensation releasing a mineral impression directly obtained from the deep subsoils of the old vineyard. The palate is dynamic with a good acid base and offers a crispy fruit sensation. The palate is complex and airy, thick but digestible. The guava juice retro-olfaction is delicious. The finish enjoys a good length. This luscious Bordeaux Blancs Secs is captivating and well-proportioned. This wine has every asset for a good ageing.
