Description
A powerful and well-built Hermitage wine
An emblematic wine of Maison Delas Frères, the red Hermitage Domaine des Tourettes 2013 will charm wine lovers who seek great wines from the Northern Rhône Valley.
The Delas Domaine des Tourettes 2013 perfectly expresses the mythical qualities of the Hermitage appellation. The blend includes 3 different terroirs: L’Ermite, le Sabot and les Tourettes. Each of these plots are home to a unique terroir of granite soils covered with mica-schist and gneiss, mixed with alluvial pebbles. The minerality of this terroir lends a unique character to the varietal of choice of the zone, Syrah.
In the glass, the Delas Hermitage Domaine des Tourettes 2013 presents a brilliant dark red colour. On the nose, all the power of Hermitage is expressed through an aromatic bouquet that evolves significantly with age. In its youth, the olfactive palette offers fruity notes of blackcurrant, while more complex notes of stewed fruit and spice develop over time. The empyreumatic aromas of leather, undergrowth and animal notes appear as the wine is aerated. On the palate, the wine offer surprising power upon a tight tannic structure and fine texture. A wine with great potential to age, powerful and structured, we suggest decanting for 1 to 3 hours before tasting in order to fully appreciate the extent of its personality.
