Sottimano : Pajoré 2009

2009 Barbaresco, 100% Nebbiolo from Piedmont

The Italian domain Sottimano is located in Piedmont. It leads an organic farming on its vines, without claiming for any certification or a traditional ageing of its wines. The Pajoré cuvee, a pure Nebbiolo Barbaresco wine, comes from an old 1.2 hectares vineyard on the Trieso municipality. The 2009 vintage displays a cherry-ruby-tinted dark red colour. On the nose, it needs airing to fully release violet and tobacco aromas, as well as a marked minerality. On the palate, the 2009 Barbaresco Pajoré is vibrant, with a very classic and elegant personality as well as beautiful purity of flavours. The ageing mark is very subtle and the balance is perfect.
