Located in the beautiful Colchaga Valley, Clos Apalta Casa Lapostolle has become one of the most famous estates in Chile. Clos Apalta's microclimate, along with its age-old know-how, is crucial to the making of these exceptional wines.
Poised on an exceptional terroir, the vineyard spreads over 60 hectares of vines, some of which are over 80 years old. Casa Lapostolle's Clos Apalta is a Central Valley wine renowned for its refinement and aromatic signature.
Vinification and ageing
Maceration for 4 to 5 weeks, accompanied by hand stirring. French oak-based containers are favoured during vinification. Fermentation in vats (68%) and new barrels (33%). Malolactic fermentation in new barrels. Aged for 24 months in barrels (90% new, 10% second-fill barrels). Bottled without fining or filtration.
Cabernet Sauvignon (8%)
Petit Verdot (4%).
This intense wine showcases a beautiful deep purple-red colour with purple highlights.
The expressive nose blends fruity fragrances (plums, dried figs) with elegant notes of sweet spices.
A concentrated attack is followed by a lively, structured and linguering finish.
