The estate
A two-hundred-year-old family estate, Billecart-Salmon belongs to the elite circle of great names in Champagne. The perfectly-orchestrated Billecart-Salmon range offers an accurate relfection of Champagne know-how, reflecting mastery of the art of winemaking.
The wine
The prestigious Champagne house has recently revealed their new range, the Rendez-Vous de Billecart-Salmon. Their N°1 Meunier Extra Brut cuvée invites you to discover a new expression of the Pinot Meunier grape. Made from the greatest Pinot meunier terroirs of Champagne, N°1 Meunier Extra Brut by Billecart-Salmon expresses the purity of the grape through a sensual and refined wine that is fruity and balanced.
The winemaking
Vinified in vats and with 33% made up of reserve wines of the 2014 vintage, the N°1 Meunier Extra Brut cuvée from Billecart-Salmon undergoes an extended maturation on the lees in the cellar for 52 months. Its low dosage at 4.5 g/l allows the purity of the fruit to be fully expressed.
The blend
100% pinot meunier from the terroirs of Leuvrigny, Festigny and Venteuil. These historic terroirs are located in the Marne Valley and enjoy an excellent south, south-east exposure with vines planted in limestone and silty subsoils.
The tasting
The colour
The N°1 Meunier Extra Brut by Billecart-Salmon presents a superb colour with a golden yellow hue and silvery reflections, highlighting its fine effervescence.
The nose
On the nose, this 100% Pinot Meunier champagne seduces with its harmony. Floral notes of linden and violet appear, followed by notes of fresh wheat stalks. With great subtlety, the aromatic bouquet expresses all the fruity nuances of Pinot Meunier.
The palate
On the palate, this champagne reveals a textured and refined substance. It evokes sensual and tasty fruit, with notes of pear and currants. The finish stretches on for a long time, leaving the palate with delicate sensations of white pepper, along with pleasantly tangy saline notes.

To fully appreciate the full flavour potential of this champagne, it is advisable to serve it at a temperature between 10 and 12 °.
