Description
The Grande Annee Rose 2005 of Bollinger : a Rare Champagne
Bollinger's Grande Annee Rose 2005 is a blend of 72% Pinot Noir and 28% Chardonnay. The origin of the grapes is truly impressive: 95% from Grands Cru and 5% Premiers Cru plots. At Bollinger, vintage cuvees are only produced in exceptional years. Also guaranteeing high quality is the fact that this Champagne is blended with 5% red wine from the legendary Cote aux Enfants, and the maturation time is twice as long as that required by the appellation.
The 2005 Bollinger Grande Annee Rose has a beautiful salmon colour with orange highlights. The nose offers notes of fresh bread, spices and cinnamon with woody and floral touches. On the palate it is a powerful and complex champagne with flavours of citrus, orange blossom and subtle notes of currant. An exceptional and generous wine, the Grande Annee 2005 can be tasted now or aged in the cellar.
