A model of excellence radiating in the heart of the Saint-Julien appellation, Château Beychevelle is one of the most distinctive Médoc properties on the Left Bank of the Bordeaux region.
Vintage after vintage, Château Beychevelle has distinguished itself through its wines that show a density and a rare depth while maintaining elegance and flexibility, which is the charm of the wines from the Saint-Julien appellation. A fine wine from the estate that comes from a delicate vintage, the Château Beychevelle 2017 confirms its excellence with a personality of its own.
The great terroirs face the water, and from great terroirs come great wines. The location of Château Beychevelle’s vineyard that overlooks the Gironde River lives up to the proverb. The great terroirs of this property escaped the frosts that affected the majority of Bordeaux vineyards. The favourable weather conditions, which continued throughout the growing season, made it possible for the grapes to reach the harvest at the best stage of ripeness. The extremely rigorous parcel selection according to the grape varieties, the terroirs, and stage of maturity of the berries allowed the technical team to capture the most beautiful expression of this vintage.
Vinified in new vats that have been used since the 2016 vintage, the blend is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (50%), and supplemented by Merlot (45%), Petit Verdot (4%) and Cabernet Franc (1%). The Château Beychevelle 2017 illustrates the wine’s precision and perfect technicality that is highlighted by the quality of the harvest.
With its dark purple colour, the Château Beychevelle 2017 demonstrates the excellent quality of berries that were high in anthocyanins at the time of the harvest. A pure bouquet reveals the brightness and freshness of the fruit and the palate coats itself with ripe, silky-grained tannins. The Château Beychelle 2017 is a model of refinement and depth whose development on the palate extends to an elegant and lingering finish. A lovely “7” vintage for this exception from Saint-Julien.
