A single-varietal Pinot Noir red wine produced in the Mercurey 1er Cru appellation, the Mercurey 1er Cru "Clos du Roi" from Château de Chamirey comes from a vineyard with a total area of around 3 hectares, made up of 4 neighbouring parcels. The vines are planted on clay-limestone soils, which are predominantly clayey. The wine is aged in oak barrels (40% in new barrels) for an average of 15 months.

The Mercurey 1er Cru "Clos du Roi" 2013 of Château de Chamirey displays a magnificent garnet red colour. The nose combines power and complexity, giving off aromas of black fruits, blackcurrants, and balsamic. The palate is fresh and expresses black fruits flavours, consistent with the nose. This wine combines length and balance, also offering fine and silky tannins. To be consumed before 2019.
