A Mercurey 1er Cru red wine with silky tannins

Produced from a vineyard of around 3 hectares in the Mercurey 1er Cru appellation, the Mercurey 1er Cru "Clos du Roi" of the Château de Chamirey is a single-varietal Pinot Noir red wine. Planted on 4 neighboring plots, the vines benefit from predominantly clayey clay-limestone soils. The ageing of the wine is carried out in oak barrels (25% in new barrels) over an average period of 15 months.

With its sublime dark garnet colour and violet reflections, the Mercurey 1er Cru "Clos du Roi" 2015 from Château de Chamirey reveals intense and empyreumatic aromas of sweet spices (cinnamon, nutmeg), along with pleasant notes of red fruit and fresh herbs. Magnificently voluminous, the mouth offers flavours of red fruits married to touches of cinnamon and nutmeg, consistent with the nose. Finally, the wine offers very silky tannins. To be kept until 2026-2028.
