Description
A Mercurey 1er Cru Monopole combining finesse and class
"Monopole" of Château de Chamirey belonging to the Domaines Devillard, which have produced an exclusive Mercurey 1st Growth. The Château de Chamirey La Mission comes from a plot whose vines were planted in 1961 (the oldest) and 1997 (for the younger ones). With a total area of 1.9240 hectares, this "Monopole" enjoys eastern exposure on a rocky limestone terrace, located just above the "Clos du Roi" Premier Cru, another plot used to develop a Mercurey 1st red wine.
The Château de Chamirey Mercurey 1st Growth « La Mission » 2016 of Domaines Devillard displays a yellow colour with hints of beautiful bright gold. The nose is immediately floral with great finesse and elegance, evolving into something resolutely fruity but without excess. This wine, and particularly in this vintage, is often restrained in its prime but guarantees a depth and aromatic finesse during its evolution in bottle. The wine is precise and tense, a tension confirmed from the entry into mouth with a very mineral character bringing depth, relief and of course, tension. The back of the palate releases fruity notes with a beautifully long finish. Assuredly, a bottle of great keeping potential and fantastic complexity.
