Description
A rich and well-balanced Languedoc red wine
The estate
Founded around 1870 by Eugène Bosc, Domaine d'Aigues Belles watches over a 21-hectare vineyard, of which 19 are in production, that is situated in the area known as "Aiguebelle", around forty kilometres away from Nîmes and Montpellier.
Since the 1950s, production has been destined for wine cooperatives, but the family-owned estate experienced a significant expansion in 2000. The members of the Palatan family, the fourth generation of estate owners, are thoroughly renovating the production tools in order to elevate this Languedoc estate.
The vineyard
Planted on arid, stony soils with a clay and limestone subsoil, the vines are 30 years old on average and produce fine Languedoc wines. The grape varieties rooted at Domaine D'Aigues Belles which produce their red wines are Grenache, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault and Mourvèdre.
Vinification and ageing
Harvested by hand, the grapes used for the production of the 2019 Lombarde vintage by Domaine D'Aigues Belles are destemmed and sorted. Fermentation in stainless steel vats. The wine is aged in barrels, some of which are new.
