Description
A Châteauneuf-du-Pape wine with an alluring elegance and aromatic richness
The estate
Committed to practicing traditional viticultural methods that respect both the terroir and the environment, Famille Perrin has become an essential reference among fine Rhône Valley wines over the years. A forerunner in the innovative organic farming approach since 1950 followed by biodynamic in 1974, the Perrin family produces fine wines that are renowned beyond the French borders for their quality and refinement.
The wine
Les Sinards 2018 by Famille Perrin is a Châteauneuf-du-Pape wine that comprises young vines from the Beaucastel estate and also from tenanted vines. The grapes are planted on soils composed of Urgonian limestone and marine molasse from the miocene and covered with rolled pebbles.
The vintage
The excellent conditions at the beginning of the year favoured an even and fruitful flowering period. Although the heavy rainfall at the end of spring led to a strong mildew pressure, the weather continued to be mild until the harvest.
Vinification and ageing
Harvested separately, the grapes of each variety are rigorously sorted upon arrival at the winery. Part of the wine is vinified in whole bunches or with destemming. Following the blend, a 2-year vinification is carried out in tuns.
