Description
An extremely mineral wine from Mont de Milieu in La Chablisienne
The Mont de Milieu of Chablisienne is a single-varietal Chardonnay white wine produced in the Chablis 1er Cru appellation. The vines, which average 25 years old, enjoy a terroir composed of soils of the middle and upper Kimmeridgian, alternating limestone and marl with Exogyra virgula. The wine is aged on fine lees for 15 months, in vats and barrels.
With its clear and brilliant pale yellow colour, the Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Milieu 2013 from La Chablisienne reveals a splendid aromatic palette, combining ripe fruit with woody vanilla from its barrel-ageing and a subtle mineral reduction. The minerality typical of the Kimmeridgian soils of Chablis expresses itself magnificently after swirling. On the palate, the Mont de Milieu 2013 of La Chablisienne is mature and wonderfully structured.
