Description
A fine Chablis Grand Cru wine with a pleasant balance and complexity
The estate
Founded in 1923 following the initiative of Abbé Balitrand, the winemaking cooperative La Chablisienne is the most important producer of Chablis wines. From Petit Chablis, to Chablis, Chablis Premiers Crus and Chablis Grands Crus, and the wines from the legendary Château Grenouille, La Chablisienne produces around thirty different vintages and crus which enable lovers of great Burgundy wines to discover the multiple profiles of Chablis wines.
The vineyard
Château Grenouilles" is a Chablis wine made from a 7.2-hectare single vineyard. The vines enjoy a perfect south-western exposure, facing the village of Chablis, on the right bank of the Serein river. The vines are 40 years old on average and are planted on Kimmeridgian clay-limestone soils.
The wine
The legendary Château Grenouilles Grand Cru is the rarest of the Chablis Grands Crus. This legendary white wine offers one of the finest expressions of the Chablis terroir’s minerality. This wine benefits from an exceptional ageing potential which allows it to evolve beautifully over time.
The blend
This Chablis Grand Cru "Château Grenouilles" 2012 by La Chablisienne is a 100% Chardonnay.
