Description
A white wine of Provence seducing finesse and complexity
The estate
Since ancient times, Château Miraval has been the home of many great men. Thomas Aquinas, the Prince of Naples and also Jacques Loussier have lived within its pastel pink walls. In 1970, this famous French jazz pianist revolutionised Château Miraval: installing a recording studio where all the greatest rock legends were invited. In 2008, this magical place conquered the hearts of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt who decided to buy the estate. Château Miraval underwent renovation to modernise the estate. Reaching the pinnacle of excellence, the couple successfully elevated Château Miraval's reputation, considered as one of the finest estates in the region.
The vineyard
Located in the heart of the Var, the illustrious Château Miraval benefits from an exceptional terroir in Correns, the first organic village in France. This Miraval Blanc 2021 is a Côtes de Provence wine made from vineyards planted on gentle slopes with clay-limestone soils.
The vintage
A dry, mild winter preceded a wet, cold spring punctuated by several periods of frosts which had an impact on the vineyard and yields (-50% approximately). The flowering was qualitative. The hot and dry conditions during the hot summer, combined with rigorous work on the soil, enabled the vines to preserve their healthy condition and the berreis to maintain their freshness.
Vinification and ageing
The hand-picked grapes are rigorously sorted before being gently pressed. Fermentation at low temperature, then ageing in demi-muids and casks with stirring (50% of the cuvée).
The blend
Rolle (100%).
