Description
The estate
Michael Twelftree and Richard Mintz founded Two Hands in 1999, their goal being to produce wines that highlight the nuances and aromatic potential of fine Australian wines.
The vineyard
Spread across six different regions, Two Hands' vineyards produce wines that enhance the potential and nuances of each terroir. Each plot is managed independently, from harvesting, through to fermentation, oak ageing and bottling, in order to allow the wine to express its full character and identity. Since its creation, Two Hands has been committed to producing organic wines. "Quality without compromise" is the core value of this visionary company, be it in the way they make their wines and in their choice of names or labels.
The wine
Holy Grail by Two Hands is made from vineyards located in the Seppeltsfield wine region of the Barrossa Valley. The 21 hectares of vines acquired in 2008 were supplemented by a vineyard of just under 15 hectares in 2015.
The vines are 17 years old on average, are planted 250 metres above sea level and rest on red and brown clay soil.
The blend
This 2019 Holy Grail by Two Hands is a 100% Shiraz.
