Description
A dry white wine from Bordeaux by Valandraud
The estate
A First Classified Growth of Saint-Émilion, Château Valandraud shines bright among the most beautiful estates of the appellation. The Second Wine in white, classified in the Bordeaux blanc sec appellation, the Virginie de Valandraud offers a beautiful representation of its terroir and fantastic quality-price ratio.
The vineyard
The Château Valandraud vineyard stretches over 12 hectares of vines in production, planted in clay-limestone and siliceous-gravelly soils. 2.5 hectares of vines are dedicated to the production of the Virginie de Valandraud white wine. The wines are aged 20 years on average. The white plantings are composed of sauvignon gris (50%), sauvignon blanc (40%) and sémillon (10%).
The winemaking
Manual harvested in 3 different passes, then kept cold before pressing in a pneumatic press.
