Wegeler's 2015 Bernkastel Doctor Riesling Beerenauslese opens super clear, precise, intense and enormously concentrated but also fine on the nose where lemon and grapefruit aromas intermix with the typical smoke and crushed stone flavors of the Doctor. The attack on the palate is rich and intense, and the wine reveals lush fruit with a viscous, vital texture and an endless flow of sweet tropical fruits. However, this is an awesome Beerenauslese with great finesse and elegance that is in perfect balance and highly digestible although made to be enjoyed for decades.
