Description
A Pomerol wine with complex aromas and a refined texture
The estate
Created in 1825, Château Feytit-Clinet thrives on 6.5 hectares of the western plateau of Pomerol in Bordeaux. A family property of the Chasseuil family since 2000, the estate benefits from the leadership of Jérémy Chasseuil who has transformed it since 1999. This renaissance has propelled Feytit-Clinet among the benchmark estates of the Pomerol appellation.
The vineyard
The vineyard of Château Feytit-Clinet spans 6.32 hectares in the Pomerol appellation. The vines, averaging 34 years of age, flourish on gravelly soils and gravel over clay. This geological composition gives the terroir a distinctive identity, enhancing the expression of Merlot and Cabernet Franc that make up the estate’s plantings.
Vinification and aging
Cold pre-fermentation maceration for 3 days at 10 °C in rectangular concrete vats. Total maceration, including fermentation, lasts 3 to 4 weeks. Malolactic fermentation takes place directly in barrels, followed by 2 months on the lees. Aging then continues for 15 months in barrels, with 65 % new oak and 35 % once-used barrels.
Blend
The blend of Château Feytit-Clinet 2024 consists of 88 % Merlot and 12 % Cabernet Franc.
