Description
A refined and mineral white wine from Bourgogne
The estate
Since 1825, the Faiveley family has cultivated its roots in Nuits-Saint-Georges, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits in Bourgogne. Passed down through generations, Domaine Faiveley is now led by Erwan Faiveley, joined by his sister Eve in 2014. Together they represent the seventh generation and uphold a vision where tradition and innovation unite in the pursuit of excellence. The estate has established itself as a major reference for great Bourgogne wines thanks to viticulture that respects natural balance and constant rigor in winemaking.
The vineyard
With more than 120 hectares spread across the Côte de Nuits, the Côte de Beaune, and the Côte Chalonnaise, Domaine Faiveley boasts an exceptional heritage. It cultivates numerous plots in prestigious appellations, including Grands Crus and Premiers Crus, on terroirs emblematic of chardonnay and pinot noir. The diversity of soils and exposures allows the full finesse and complexity of great Bourgogne terroirs to be revealed through a Burgundian expression.
The wine
Nestled on the boundary of Meursault, the climat “Les Referts” stands out for its gray marl soils and a south/southwest exposure ideal for chardonnay. On a small 0.37-hectare parcel, this Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru reveals the pure expression of its terroir. This prestigious climat, integrated into the appellation since the 19th century, is renowned for producing wines with a subtle balance, marked by a beautiful minerality.
