The estate
Officially founded in 1797 by Jean Latour in Aloxe-Corton, Louis Latour draws its roots from a family cooperage tradition dating back to 1731 in the Côte de Beaune. Now the largest Grand Cru estate in the Côte d'Or, this Burgundian house remains independent and family-run, with each generation carrying on the Louis Latour name. Its uniqueness lies in the remarkable combination of its cooperage heritage and winemaking expertise, cultivating prestigious plots such as Corton Grèves and Corton Bressandes, while preserving a centuries-old family identity at the heart of Burgundy.
The vineyard
This Beaune wine comes from the slopes above the village of Beaune. The vines, averaging 30 years old, thrive on limestone and chalky soils particularly well-suited to chardonnay. These terroirs give the wine its characteristic minerality and aromatic finesse.
Winemaking and aging
Traditional vinification in oak barrels with full malolactic fermentation. Aging takes place for 8 to 10 months in French oak barrels from the Louis Latour cooperage, 10% of which are new with medium toast, bringing complexity and structure without masking the expression of the terroir.
Grape variety
100% chardonnay.
