A rare Chablis Premier Cru with distinct minerality
The estate
Founded in Monthélie in 1831 by Bernard Bichot, the Albert Bichot house is today an essential reference in Burgundy. Under the management of Albéric Bichot, it cultivates more than 100 hectares of vineyards spread over six different estates, from Chablis to Beaujolais. The Domaine Long-Depaquit in Chablis covers approximately 52 hectares. A pioneer of sustainable viticulture in Burgundy since the 1980s, the house combines family tradition and modernity.
The vineyard
The "Les Beugnons" climat is located on the left bank of the Serein, in an area protected by many trees. Although it could be attached to the Vaillons climat, this "Lieu-dit" has kept its name due to the unique typicity of its plot. The 2.30 hectares of vines, which are 15 years old on average, rest on clay soils mixed with numerous Portlandian limestone scree, on a Kimmeridgian marl subsoil. The particularly favorable exposure and the very white soils give the wines a distinct minerality, combined with rich and ripe aromas. This cuvée remains one of the rarities of Chablis.
The vintage
The 2022 vintage is one of the very beautiful years in Burgundy and benefited from favorable climatic conditions that produced grapes of excellent quality.
Winemaking and aging
The harvest of the Chablis Premier Cru "Les Beugnons" Domaine Long-Depaquit 2022 is carried out manually, followed by a rigorous sorting of the grapes. Slow pressing at moderate pressure allows for a gentle extraction of the juices. Alcoholic fermentation and aging on fine lees take place over a period of 11 to 12 months in stainless steel tanks, preserving the purity and freshness of the fruit.
