Food and Wine Pairings

This white wine from Bourgogne pairs perfectly with delicately cooked fish and seafood. It also goes very well with roasted or sauced poultry as well as white meats.

A Puligny-Montrachet Wine Faithful to the Burgundian Elegance of Maison Albert Bichot

The Estate

The history of the Bichot family dates back to 1214, but it was from 1350 that they firmly established themselves in Bourgogne. In 1831, Bernard Bichot founded a wine merchant house in Monthélie, which enjoyed a remarkable ascent in the 19th century, eventually becoming an official supplier to the Swedish Court.

Still independent and family-run, Maison Albert Bichot has established itself as a key figure in the Burgundian vineyard. Since 1996, the sixth generation has been at the helm of the company, with a strong commitment to combining modernity with respect for tradition.

The Vineyard

Today, Albert Bichot owns over 100 hectares of vines stretching from north to south of Bourgogne. These plots are grouped into six prestigious estates: Domaine Long-Depaquit in Chablis (Yonne), Domaine du Clos-Frantin and Château Gris in Nuits-Saint-Georges, and Domaine du Pavillon in Pommard. In 2013, the house acquired Domaine Adélie, dedicated to Mercurey wines and named in honor of Albert Bichot’s daughter, born in 2003, thus perpetuating the family bond. The following year, Domaine de Rochegrès, located in the Moulin-à-Vent appellation, completed this exceptional wine heritage.

The Wine

This Puligny-Montrachet comes from vineyards located in the Côte de Beaune, on clay-limestone soils with local deposits of marl. These exceptional terroirs provide Chardonnay with ideal conditions to express all its finesse and the characteristic minerality of this prestigious appellation.

Vinification and Aging

The grapes are hand-harvested then carefully sorted. A slow and moderate pressing respects the integrity of the fruit. Alcoholic fermentation and aging on fine lees take place in oak barrels, 20 to 30% of which are new wood, for a duration of 14 to 16 months.

Grape Variety

This wine is made exclusively from Chardonnay.
