The estate
After training at the Beaune viticultural school and several years of experience at the family estate Michel Colin-Deleger, Bruno Colin founded his own estate in 2003. His first vintage was released the following year, in 2004.
The vineyard
Located in Bourgogne, the estate covers 8.75 hectares spread across several renowned appellations. Bruno Colin notably cultivates vines in Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin, Santenay and Dezize-les-Maranges, on some of the region’s most prized terroirs.
The wine
The Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru "La Truffière" comes from a plot situated at higher elevation, just below the hamlet of Blagny. This 2.5-hectare climat includes 49 ares belonging to the estate. The name "La Truffière" recalls the time when truffles still grew on these lands before the widespread planting of vines. The vines, planted in 1952 and 1987, flourish on clay-limestone soils, with environmentally respectful vineyard management and fully mechanical soil work.
Winemaking and aging
The grapes are hand-harvested. The wine is then aged for 12 months in oak barrels, 15 to 20% of which are new, before being refined in tank for an additional 4 to 6 months.
