Description
A mineral and generous Puligny-Montrachet wine
The estate
Trained at the Beaune Viticultural High School and after working within the family domaine Michel Colin-Deleger, Bruno Colin founded his domaine in 2003. The year 2004 thus saw the birth of his first vintage.
The vineyard
The Domaine Bruno Colin vineyard now covers 8.75 hectares in Bourgogne. Bruno Colin thus owns very fine parcels in the communes of Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin, Santenay and Dezize-les-Maranges.
The wine
The Premier Cru Puligny-Montrachet – La Truffière parcel is located at the top of the hill, below the Hameau de Blagny. This appellation covers 2.50 hectares, of which 49 ares belong to Bruno Colin. The “La Truffière” parcel is named as such due to the presence of this famous fungus at a time when the vineyard was less cultivated. Planted in 1952 and 1987, the vines are on clay-limestone soils and are sustainably farmed with mechanical soil work.
Vinification and ageing
Hand-harvested grapes. Aged for 12 months in oak barrels (15–20% new barrels) followed by 4–6 months in tank.
Grape variety
Chardonnay (100%).
