Description
Château Capbern 2016 : a Saint-Estèphe with a fantastically fresh finish
Produced in the Saint-Estèphe appellation, Château Capbern is a red wine from a 29-hectare vineyard (out of 33 planted). The average age of the vines is 17 years, and they are planted on sandy-gravelly, clayey-gravelly and calcareous soils. The wine is aged in barrels for 18 months, in 60% in new barrels. The Château Capbern 2016 blends 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot.
The château Capbern 2016 develops a very precise nose with fragrances of blackberries and mint. On the palate, the tannins are granular and the tannic structure is gently jammed. The finish is extremely fresh and offers tasty touches of black pepper.
