The estate
Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey, Sauternes Premier Cru Classé in 1855, is one of the most prestigious names in this emblematic sweet wine appellation in the south of the Bordeaux region.
The vineyard
Crème de Tête from Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey is a Sauternes wine made from 32 hectares of terroir, 18 hectares of which were planted for this cuvée.
The wine
Created on the initiative of Valérie Lavigne, the estate's oenologist, this Château Lafaurie Peyraguey 2022 "Crème de Tête" is an exceptional cuvée in terms of both quality and rarity, being made only once a century.
The vintage
Due to the particularly warm weather in 2022, the decision to start harvesting late was beneficial, resulting in 100% botrytised grapes, ideally concentrated in aroma and sugar. Yields were 10 hl/ha. Harvesting took place at the end of October.
