Smoky aromas, rich and concentrated structure, dominant oak notes, coarse-grained tannins: only partially in line with the En Primeur impression.

Enticing, with vibrant raspberry and red currant coulis fruit liberally laced with singed alder and dried anise notes. Flashes of rooibos tea and incense weave through as well. A light tarry thread on the finish adds range. Drink now through 2027. 12,500 cases made.

The main wine has significantly more colour and body than Les Demoiselles. Silky on the palate, this is juicy, classic, very Pessac-Léognan because it has elegance and balance and is silky-smooth. This is good stuff, with body and exotic spicing. A little soft through the finish but this is an easy one to recommend.

Deep and slightly spicy black cherries and blackberries with leafy nuances. The palate has a very pure, lively core of cassis. Full body and deep flavors of blue plums. Try from 2021.

Tasted blind. Quite mellow nose and then very aggressively astringent palate. Really quite raw and pinched. (JR)

Loads of ripe black cherries, plums, bouquet garni, truffle and forest floor emerge from the glass of the deep purple color 2015 Château Larrivet Haut-Brion. With a full, layered, concentrated profile, ripe tannin, and a great, great finish, it’s a seriously good Pessac-Leognan that’s capable of holding for 15-20 years.

Deep purple-garnet color, dense at the core with a violet sheen at the rim. An open nose scented with ripe to very ripe cherries, alongside roasted coffee and very fine notes of malt and honey. Medium-bodied on the palate, with soft, well-integrated acidity and a subtly stewed-fruit finish. A gastronomic charmer.

A very beautiful color, dark and dense. Great power, ripe richness with a pleasant sweet sensation on the finish. Lots of substance, great richness of sap and a significant tannic mass for 14.3% alcohol.

Garnet red. A fruity, spicy bouquet with notes of citrus and cinnamon. A floral touch with a hint of violets. The attack is creamy and elegant. On the palate, the wine is seductive and shows a refreshing structure. The fine-grained tannins are perfectly integrated and in harmony with its pedigree. This brings freshness and longevity to the wine. A wine full of drive and energy, with a few decades ahead of it.
