Vinum

Smoky aromas, rich and concentrated structure, dominant oak notes, coarse-grained tannins: only partially in line with the En Primeur impression.

Wine Spectator

James Molesworth

Enticing, with vibrant raspberry and red currant coulis fruit liberally laced with singed alder and dried anise notes. Flashes of rooibos tea and incense weave through as well. A light tarry thread on the finish adds range. Drink now through 2027. 12,500 cases made.

Decanter

The main wine has significantly more colour and body than Les Demoiselles. Silky on the palate, this is juicy, classic, very Pessac-Léognan because it has elegance and balance and is silky-smooth. This is good stuff, with body and exotic spicing. A little soft through the finish but this is an easy one to recommend.

James Suckling

Deep and slightly spicy black cherries and blackberries with leafy nuances. The palate has a very pure, lively core of cassis. Full body and deep flavors of blue plums. Try from 2021.

Tasted blind. Quite mellow nose and then very aggressively astringent palate. Really quite raw and pinched. (JR)

Loads of ripe black cherries, plums, bouquet garni, truffle and forest floor emerge from the glass of the deep purple color 2015 Château Larrivet Haut-Brion. With a full, layered, concentrated profile, ripe tannin, and a great, great finish, it’s a seriously good Pessac-Leognan that’s capable of holding for 15-20 years.

Weinwisser

Deep purple-garnet color, dense at the core with a violet sheen at the rim. An open nose scented with ripe to very ripe cherries, alongside roasted coffee and very fine notes of malt and honey. Medium-bodied on the palate, with soft, well-integrated acidity and a subtly stewed-fruit finish. A gastronomic charmer.

René Gabriel

Deep purple-garnet, dense at the core with a violet rim. An open bouquet scented with ripe, almost overripe cherries, along with notes of roasted coffee and very subtle hints of malt and honey. The palate is supple, with well-integrated acidity and a subtly stewed-fruit finish. It seems set to charm early and will likely be a real crowd-pleaser in restaurants.

André Kunz

Fruity, perfumed, sweet, finely opulent bouquet with blackberry, black cherry and pralines. Dense, velvety, finely lush palate with bold, sweet fruit, fine tannins, a tightly knit structure and a long, fruity finish. 18/20 2022 - 2038

La RVF

A very beautiful color, dark and dense. Great power, ripe richness with a pleasant sweet sensation on the finish. Lots of substance, great richness of sap and a significant tannic mass for 14.3% alcohol.

Yves Beck

Garnet red. A fruity, spicy bouquet with notes of citrus and cinnamon. A floral touch with a hint of violets. The attack is creamy and elegant. On the palate, the wine is seductive and shows a refreshing structure. The fine-grained tannins are perfectly integrated and in harmony with its pedigree. This brings freshness and longevity to the wine. A wine full of drive and energy, with a few decades ahead of it.

Description

The aromatic richness of a smooth and powerful Pessac-Léognan

Château Larrivet Haut-Brion is beautifully located on the rolling hills of Léognan in the south of the Bordeaux region. Its distinguished wines present all the typicity of the the Pessac-Léognan appellation.

Châtrau Larrivet Haut-Brion wines are a benchmark in Graves. They are precise, intensely aromatic, perfectly balanced, and have light, elegant oak.

As a result of a brilliant solar vintage, the Larrivet Haut-Brion 2015 displays all the expressiveness typical of the greatest wines from Graves, and expresses all the authenticity of its terroir. This Pessac-Léognan grand cru is a blend dominated with Cabernet Sauvignon (62%), and complemented with Merlot (33%) and Cabernet Franc (5%). The aromatic bouquet adorns itself with ripe, generous black fruit notes while aeration reveals the complexity of the terroir through its smoky notes. On the palate, the full mouthfeel reveals a generous texture with soft, mellow tannins. The mouthfeel stretches all the way in perfect balance to a persistent finish without losing intensity. This is a grand Pessac-Léognan that will evolve gloriously over the next few years.
