Description
A Surperbly Vibrant and Juicy White Grand Cru Classé from Graves
A Grand Cru Classé de Graves, Château Malartic-Lagravière is one of the unmissable classics of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, in the south of the Bordeaux region.
Vintage after vintage, the white wines of this estate reveal an inimitable quality and an impressive consistency in style, a testament to the hard work invested in each process, from the vine to the cellar. These wines clearly express the quality of the terroirs found in the Pessac-Léognan appellation.
Although 2017 was a year full of challenges, with spring frost and a very early harvest, the vintage has turned out to be one of the most successful for the Château Malartic-Lagravière white 2017. The frost did not spare the vineyard, but, fortunately, the climatic conditions that followed, in combination with the constant effort from the vineyard team to select the best fruit allowed them to obtain perfectly ripe grapes. The whites display a great aromatic concentration, while maintaining a beautiful freshness, brought about by a superb balance between sugar and acidity.
When tasted, the Château Malartic-Lagravière white 2017 offers a superb aromatic expression, revealing a brilliant purity of fruit. Luscious Sémillon (20%) lends the wine notes of exotic fruit, while Sauvignon Blanc (80%) brings a freshness of citrus and hints of fresh grass. On the palate, the frank attack emphasises the lively tension of this wine, which brings forth a beautiful texture, combining density and balance, while also preserving a delicious fruity touch. A superb representation of this new vintage.
