Description
The 2015 harvest was magnificent, with splendid conditions and grapes rich in sugar but without excess. Everything came together for the Pichon Baron estate to produce a great wine. This year, the estate has chosen a blend of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon and 23% Merlot, harvested between September 18 and October 9. Pichon Baron 2015 is a Pauillac with a juicy fruitiness, quite indulgent (with precise aromas), all in absolute freshness. Like any great wine possessing a great terroir expressing itself in a great vintage, Pichon Baron 2015 can seem reserved on the nose because it is dense and concentrated. However, swirling reveals a lot of aromatic purity dominated by blackberry, cassis cream, fresh liquorice. The entry on the palate is refreshing with good acidic support. The mid-palate is very elegant, being both on the register of sap (tight but fine tannins) and a creamy envelope civilising the tannins. The wine has length, precision, rectitude. An assumed aristocracy! A very beautiful success!
