Description
A Grand Cru of Saint-Julien from a very great vintage
Located in Saint-Julien de Beychevelle, in the heart of the Saint-Julien appellation and the Medoc's smallest AOC, the magnificent Chateau Saint-Pierre has maintained the quality of its wine which contributes greatly to the prestigious reputation of this Fourth Classified Growth of 1855.
The Chateau Saint-Pierre 2010 presents all the assets of a great Saint-Julien, which was particularly favoured in 2010, an excellent year that also aligns with the exceptional year in 2009. The blend consists of Cabernet Sauvignon, the flagship black grape variety of Medoc, at 78% and Merlot at 22%.
The Chateau Saint-Pierre 2010 has a purple colour of great depth. In a classic Saint-Julien style, the nose reveals notes of ripe black fruit of cassis, blackberry and liquorice. The palate has a woody but pleasant presence with a beautiful velvety texture. Powerful but balanced, the mid-palate gives way to tannins of great finesse and ends with a finish of roasted coffee notes.
