An expressive and structured Corsican red wine
The estate
A passionate and visionary man, Yves Canarelli took over the running of a vineyard near Figari, in the south of Corsica in 1993. A passionate winegrower and avid lover of local grape varieties, Yves Canarelli majorly reorganised the vineyard in order to make Clos Canarelli a reference among fine Corsican wines.
The vineyard
The Clos Canarelli vineyard has borne an organic certificate since 2002 and biodynamic since 2006. These fine Corsican wines by Clos Canarelli are vinified in modern facilities and are renowned for their precision and authentic expression of their terroir of origin.
The wine
Produced in the Vins de Corse Figari appellation, this Clos Canarelli 2019 red wine stems from a south/north-west facing vineyard that rests on a clay-granitic soil. This terroir benefits from a warm and windy climate as well as significant temperature variatons between daytime and nighttime, ideal conditions that favour the progressive and optimal maturity of the grapes.
Vinification and ageing
The crushed and destemmed grapes are fermented with indigenous yeasts. Aged for 16 months in tuns.
The blend
This Clos Canarelli red 2019 comprises a blend of Niellucciu, Syrah and Sciacarello.
