A vibrant and distinctive rosé from the Côtes de Provence
The Estate
Founded in the 13th century by the Knights Templar, then passed on to the Knights of Malta, the Domaine Peyrassol is today an emblematic figure among the great wines of Provence. Since its acquisition in 2001 by Philippe Austruy, the estate has experienced a true renaissance. Driven by passion, he undertook in 2002 a complete overhaul of the vineyard and modernised the facilities to reveal the full richness of the terroir. Organic farming, sowing between the rows, stimulation of the soil’s microbial life, rigorous plot selection, manual harvesting on the oldest vines: every gesture is aimed at excellence.
The Vineyard
Originating from an emblematic plot surrounded by stone walls and located at the foot of the historic buildings, the Clos Peyrassol rosé is produced only in the best vintages. Since 2009, this Côtes de Provence wine embodies the purest expression of the estate’s terroir.
The Vintage
The winter of 2024, cold and rainy, allowed the vine to build up excellent water reserves. After a spring disrupted by a cold snap, the hot but not excessive summer promoted steady ripening of the grapes. Harvesting began in late August under intense sunshine, yielding concentrated juices balanced by beautiful acidity. September rains revitalized the vines, bringing freshness and aromatic complexity. This vintage looks promising, with cuvées that are both elegant and expressive.
Winemaking and Aging
After gentle pneumatic pressing, the juices are separated and then fermented at controlled temperature, in stainless steel tanks and stoneware jars. Following fermentation, a light racking is carried out to retain only the finest lees.
Blend
Cinsault (40%), Grenache (30%) and Tibouren (30%).
