Description
The estate
Located north of Madrid in the province of Castilla y León, not far from the prestigious Vega Sicilia estate, Dominio de Pingus is one of the big names in Spain.
Dominio de Pingus was founded in 1995 by Danish œnologist Peter Sisseck, who foresaw the extraordinary potential of the Ribera del Duero region. Led by his ambition to produce a great wine that reflected its terroir, this well-known œnologist made a meticulous selection of old tinto fino vines – the local name for the tempranillo grape variety – to raise Dominio de Pingus to the top ranks of the most famous wine estates in the world.
Pingus incorporates the excellence of the Ribera del Duero through its wonderful, inimitable range which combines powerfulness, finesse and complexity.
The vineyard
The Dominio de Pingus vineyard is worked in a traditional way respecting the short vine system "en vaso." The exclusive production at Dominio de Pingus, with very small yields – ranging from 20 hl/ha to just 9 hl/ha – makes it one of the most sought-after Castilla y León wines on earth.
The wine
Coming from a selection of 28 plots of very old vines dispersed across 35 hectares of vineyards on clay-limestone soils, Flor de Pingus is a Ribera del Duero wine representative of the Pingus style, which has won this estate international acclaim.
Winemaking and ageing
Ageing in French oak barrels, of which 25% were new.
Blend
Tempranillo (100%).
Tasting
Of a lesser concentration than the estate’s Grand Vin, Flor de Pingus unveils fine tannins and a great freshness.

This Spanish wine goes perfectly with red meats, either roast or in sauce.
To serve
