Description

A silky Burgundy wine with a captivating complexity

The property

Established in Nuits-Saint-Georges since 1825, in the heart of the prestigious Côte de Nuits, the Faiveley Family runs one of the most beautiful wine estates in Burgundy. Combining tradition and innovation with finesse, the Domaine Faiveley produces wines of great purity of expression. The vineyard management is based on a reasoned approach, concerned with preserving the natural biodiversity of fauna and flora. Thanks to a range of cuvées combining precision, elegance and depth, the estate stands as an essential reference in the Burgundy wine landscape.

The vineyard

With more than 120 hectares of vines spread between the Côte de Nuits, the Côte de Beaune and the Côte Chalonnaise, Domaine Faiveley oversees an exceptional heritage. Its plots classified as Premiers and Grands Crus give birth to masterful interpretations of the emblematic grape varieties of Burgundy, namely pinot noir and chardonnay.

The wine

This Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru is a confidential cuvée from a noble terroir once nicknamed in the Middle Ages "Petite Merveille", as the quality of the wines produced there was remarkable. This plot of more than one hectare, carefully preserved by the Faiveley family, offers a wine that is both silky, structured and intensely aromatic.

Vinification and aging

Hand-harvested, the grapes undergo a short pre-fermentation maceration before partial vinification in truncated wooden vats. The vatting extends over more than three weeks, then the wines are delicately pressed using a vertical press to obtain juices of rare purity. The aging, lasting 16 to 18 months, takes place in the estate's 19th-century vaulted cellars, in fine-grained French oak barrels, two-thirds of which are new and moderately toasted.

Grape variety

100% Pinot noir.
