The estate
Committed to artisanal viticulture that respects the terroir and the environment, Famille Perrin has become over the vintages an essential reference among the great wines of Vallée du Rhône. A pioneer in the innovative approach to organic agriculture since 1950 and biodynamics in 1974, Famille Perrin produces outstanding wines recognized beyond borders for their quality and refinement.
The wine
The Peyre Blanche cuvée from Famille Perrin is a Cairanne wine made from a 14-hectare vineyard planted on clay-gravel terraces, cultivated 100% organically. The name of this cuvée means “stone.”
The vintage
Charming in both balance and freshness, 2021 demanded the constant attention of the estate teams in response to climatic challenges, such as April frost and a rain-disrupted harvest.
Winemaking and aging
After manual harvest, the grapes are sorted, destemmed and vinified. Fermentation lasts around 15 days with pump-overs or punch-downs. The wine is racked off then aged in stainless steel vats. No oak aging is used to preserve the fruit’s freshness.
Blend
Grenache (60%)
Syrah (40%)
