Ferraton Père & Fils : Le Reverdy 2016

A white wine from Ermitage with superb structure

The Ermitage "Le Reverdy" de Ferraton Père & Fils is a white wine produced in the Ermitage appellation. This particular cuvée comes from two plots with varied terroirs. Aged 30 years on average, the vines are planted on limestone and alluvial soils for "Les Beaumes", and terraces of rounded pebbles for "Le Méal". The wine is aged in barrels, on fine lees, for 10 to 12 months, depending on the year. The 2016 vintage consists of a blend of 50% Marsanne and 50% Roussanne.

At tasting, the Ermitage "Le Reverdy" 2016 of Ferraton Père & Fils shows off a bright golden straw hue. The nose develops fragrances of yellow peaches and apricots, along with subtle toasted notes. On the palate, the wine combines structure, richness and complexity and is exceptionally long. There are tasty touches of peaches, sweet spices, roast and vanilla, with a tremendously integrated woody quality.
