Description
An elegant red wine from Côte-Rôtie
The Côte-Rôtie Lieu-dit "Montmain" of Ferraton Père & Fils is a red wine exclusively made with Syrah from a plot located in Côte-Rôtie, specifically in the northern side of the appellation. This cuvee benefits from a vineyard planted on soils composed of micaschistes and granite. The wine is matured in oak barrels for 12 to 16 months, depending on the year.
At tasting, Côte-Rôtie Lieu-dit "Montmain" 2016 by Ferraton Père & Fils displays a pretty and intense ruby colour with shades of purple. The nose is pure, giving off aromas of cherries, currants and black fruits, combined with light floral notes. Deep on the palate, the wine is smooth, very elegant and presents in the extension of its nose touches of red fruits, as well as a beautiful minerality. A wine of wonderful tension and wonderful length.
