The sharp acidity brings remarkable mineral freshness, leading to a long finish with notes of mint and wet stone.

An exceptional Australian Riesling from Clare Valley
The estate
Created in 1981 by Jeffrey Grosset, the family estate covers 22 hectares in Clare Valley, Southern Australia, 100 kilometers north of Adelaide. Owned by the family Grosset, this certified organic estate is among the absolute references for Australian Riesling. Its two emblematic vineyards, Polish Hill and Springvale, benefit from high altitudes and exceptional terroirs combining schist, limestone and slate.
The vineyard
The Springvale vineyard covers 6 hectares in the Watervale sub-region in Southern Australia, at 460 meters elevation. Facing northeast, it benefits from soils composed of red loam over limestone and slate substrates. The Riesling vines, aged 22 years, are planted using three different clones (two German and one French). Cultivated in organic and biodynamic agriculture without irrigation, this exceptional terroir enjoys a continental climate with 600 mm of annual rainfall.
Winemaking and aging
The grapes for the Springvale Riesling 2022 are hand-harvested in small parcels according to clone and vine age. After destemming and gentle pressing, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with neutral yeasts, parcel by parcel. The wine then benefits from 2 months of aging on full lees. No fining is carried out, and only a light filtration precedes bottling.
Grape variety
This white wine from Clare Valley is a 100% Riesling.
