A second wine from Pomerol dominated by freshness and finesse

The Estate

The Château Saint-Pierre is a family-owned wine estate located in the prestigious Pomerol appellation. Owned by the Pradel de Lavaux family, this vineyard benefits from an exceptional terroir on the right bank of Bordeaux. The estate is committed to producing wines of great finesse, faithfully reflecting the characteristics of its terroir. With a constant dedication to quality, Château Saint-Pierre crafts cuvées that embody the elegance and depth typical of the great wines of Pomerol.

The Vineyard

The vineyard dedicated to the production of this second wine spans 1.2 hectares within the Pomerol appellation. The vines, averaging about twenty years old, are planted on a sand-and-gravel soil particularly rich in iron deposits, a feature that imparts structure and minerality to the wines.

The Vintage

The 2024 vintage in Pomerol began with a rainy winter followed by a wet spring. These conditions ensured good water reserves in the soils. The end of summer was particularly sunny, allowing optimal ripening of the grapes.

Winemaking and Aging

Winemaking takes place in stainless steel and concrete tanks, allowing precise extraction of aromas and structure. After a maceration period of 2 to 3 weeks, the wine is immediately transferred to barrels after draining. Aging continues for 15 months, divided between 20% new barrels and 80% once-used barrels.
