The estate
Founded in 1797, the Louis Latour estate is the largest Grand Cru estate in the Côte d'Or in Burgundy, with emblematic plots in Aloxe-Corton, notably Corton-Charlemagne. This independent family-owned house for over two centuries stands out for its integrated cooperage, a legacy from the 18th century.
The vineyard
The "Perrières" climat is located in the north of the Beaune appellation, on a 1.32-hectare east-facing slope. This terroir is characterized by shallow, very poor clay-limestone soils, set on a steep incline near former limestone quarry faces.
Winemaking and aging
Winemaking is carried out traditionally in open vats with full malolactic fermentation. Aging takes place for 10 to 12 months in French oak barrels from the Louis Latour cooperage, with 35% new oak and a medium toast, allowing the wine to develop its structure and aromatic complexity.
Grape variety
This wine is made exclusively from Pinot Noir.
