Description

Characteristics and tasting notes of the Chambolle-Musigny 2020 by Louis Latour

Tasting

Color
A deep garnet color, characteristic of the great Pinot Noirs from the Côte de Nuits.

Nose
The bouquet is delicately perfumed, revealing intense aromas of black cherry and licorice that reflect the typicality of the appellation.

Palate
Ample and round, the palate offers a beautiful structure with an elegant toasty note. Crunchy cherry aromas dominate, supported by a fine freshness that persists on the finish.

Food and wine pairings

This wine pairs perfectly with noble poultry such as Bresse capon or long-roasted lamb. For cheeses, opt for creamy-textured varieties like Reblochon or Brillat-Savarin.

Serving and ageing

Serve between 14 and 15°C. This wine can rest in cellars until around 2025–2027.

An elegant and perfumed Chambolle-Musigny

The estate

The Maison Louis Latour is one of the oldest wine houses in Burgundy still owned by the founding family. The Latour family began acquiring vineyards in the Côte de Beaune as early as 1731, and Jean Latour settled in Aloxe-Corton in 1768, where he developed a significant wine estate. Owner of exceptional plots in Aloxe-Corton, including the prestigious Corton Grèves and Corton Bressandes, this domaine has distinguished itself by its historic winery.

The vineyard

Chambolle-Musigny is one of the smallest appellations of the Côte de Nuits, renowned for its delicately perfumed and elegant wines. This cuvée is made from vines averaging 30 years of age, flourishing on a clay-limestone subsoil that imparts the wine with its characteristic finesse.

Winemaking and ageing

Traditional vinification in open vats. Complete malolactic fermentation. The ageing period of 10 to 12 months is carried out in French oak barrels from the estate's cooperage, of which 20% are new wood, with a medium toast that preserves the wine's natural elegance.

Grape variety

100% Pinot Noir.
