The estate

The Maison Louis Latour is one of the oldest Burgundy wine houses still owned by the founding family. The Latour family began acquiring vineyards in the Côte de Beaune as early as 1731, and Jean Latour settled in Aloxe-Corton in 1768, where he developed a significant wine estate. Owner of exceptional parcels in Aloxe-Corton, including the prestigious Corton Grèves and Corton Bressandes, this estate has distinguished itself by its historic cellar.

The vineyard

Chambolle-Musigny is one of the smallest appellations in the Côte de Nuits, renowned for its delicately perfumed and elegant wines. This cuvée is crafted from vines with an average age of 30 years, thriving on a clay-limestone subsoil that lends the wine its characteristic finesse.

The vintage

The 2023 growing season began with a mild winter and a sunny spring, allowing rapid vine development despite some concerns over humidity and mildew. The summer was mixed, with temperatures above normal and significant rainfall, requiring constant vigilance. A heatwave in late August and early September ultimately rescued the harvest, enabling perfect ripening of the grapes.

Winemaking and ageing

Traditional vinification in open vats. Complete malolactic fermentation. The ageing, lasting 10 to 12 months, is carried out in French oak barrels from the estate's cooperage, 20% new wood, with medium toast that preserves the wine's natural elegance.
