The Liveliness and Precision of an Ermitage White Wine
The Estate
Founded in 1808 in Tain-L’Hermitage, the House M. Chapoutier embodies the excellence of the wines of the Rhône Valley. Winegrower and négociant, Michel Chapoutier has elevated this family business to the rank of the greatest oenological references. Awarded by connoisseurs worldwide, his wines stand out for their finesse and elegance. Record holder for 100/100 scores awarded by Robert Parker, Michel has passed the management to his daughter Mathilde, who today oversees over 350 hectares spread across the most prestigious appellations of the northern and southern Rhône.
The Vineyard
"De l'Orée" is derived from a rigorous single-vineyard selection of the Murets parcel. The soils, composed of very ancient fluvio-glacial alluvium, give this Ermitage white wine remarkable minerality and precision. The vines, averaging 60 to 70 years old, offer limited yields, ensuring concentrated, high-quality grapes.
Grape Variety
100% Marsanne.
