At Domaine Marcel Lapierre, wine is above all a family affair. With a history dating back to 1909, this family estate in the Beaujolais region stands out for its pioneering approach to vineyards and viticulture.
Today, this heritage of several decades is based on four fundamental pillars: the people, the soil, the climate and the grape variety. Proud of their heritage, Marcel Lapierre's children, Mathieu and Camille, are brilliantly carrying forward this ancestral philosophy. They have created extremely precise organic wines that exude all the aromatic nuances of Gamay.
This Morgon wine comes from a three-hectare vineyard run under organic farming practices and where the soil is mostly made up of granite. Developed from the oldest vines on the estate (100-year-old vines), the cuvée Marcel Lapierre 2022 only sees the light of day in great years.
Winemaking and ageing
The grapes are harvested by hand, carefully sorted and then placed in vats to begin a semi-carbonic maceration for 15 to 36 days (without SO2 or yeast). The wine is aged in old 228 litre barrels for 9 months. The wine is not filtered but is lightly sulphited at bottling.
Intense and delicate, this Beaujolais wine expresses lovely scents of cherry, violet and licorice.
