Description
An elegant and complex Pugliese red wine by Masseria Surani
The estate
Located in the centre of Puglia, in the south-Italian region of Salento, the Masseria Surani estate borders the Ionian Sea. The Masseria Surani estate is one of the six estates owned by the Tommasi family. Set in the middle of the vineyards, the estate, built in one of the region’s old manor houses, produces Primitivo di Manduria Riserva wines.
The vineyard
The Dionysos Primitivo di Manduria Riserva wine is dedicated to the Greek god of wine. Its harmonious and full-bodied character is among the finest red wines of Puglia. Dionysos Primitivo di Manduria Riserva is a DOC Primitivo di Manduria wine made from the eponymous grape variety and stems from the old vines at the Masseria Surani estate. Following a 15 to 18-day fermentation process, the wine is aged in barrels for 15 to 18 months followed by 6 months in the bottle.
